The Special ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Illegal Wildlife Trade was conducted in Chiang Mai, Thailand on 21 – 22 March 2019. The Ministers adopted the Chiang Mai Statement of ASEAN Ministers Responsible for CITES and Wildlife Enforcement on Illegal Wildlife Trade in which, among others, is aimed to strengthen ASEAN cooperation to advance the fight against illegal wildlife trade.
